FBI raids home of former aide to NY Gov. Hochul, report says
MANHASSET, N.Y. (TND) — The FBI reportedly raided the home of a former aid to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Tuesday.
Linda Sun, who served as the deputy chief of staff to the governor, owned the Manhasset house that was raided by the FBI, according to NBC New York. The FBI told The National Desk it carried out “court-authorized law enforcement activity” in the town but declined to comment further.
A LinkedIn profile for Sun says she was a senior advisor on business development, legislative priorities and “constituent affair engagement” during her time as deputy chief of staff from 2021-22. She also oversaw “executive operations."
After working directly for the governor, Sun became the deputy commissioner for strategic business development with the state Department of Labor, according to the profile. In May 2023, it says she started as a campaign manager and created a budget to allocate funds for advertising.
Earlier this year, the FBI raided homes belonging to a staffer for New York City Mayor Eric Adams, according to the Associated Press. The agency reportedly searched Winnie Greco’s two addresses in the Bronx. She was a former fundraiser for the mayor before becoming the director of Asian affairs, the outlet said.
That raid followed an investigation months earlier into her conduct. A report from the local news outlet The City said that Greco promised an employee a job if he renovated her kitchen.
Last year, the FBI raided the homes of Brianna Suggs, a fundraiser for Adams, and Rana Abbasova, who worked in the mayor’s international affairs office, according to the Associated Press.
A spokesperson for Adams told the outlet at the time that the mayor expected ethical behavior from its employees.
“Our administration will always follow the law, and we always expect all our employees to adhere to the strictest ethical guidelines,” they noted. “As we have repeatedly said, we don’t comment on matters that are under review, but will fully cooperate with any review underway.”
Gov. Hochul did not immediately return The National Desk’s request for comment.
