Hazy sunshine today with a good chance of afternoon thunderstorms

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Monsoon moisture travels up the coast and may bring thunderstorms to our forecast area later today. Scattered thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible this afternoon. These storms will also produce pockets of heavy rain.

It is nearly impossible to know where exactly these storms will impact this early on. Before those storms arrive, look for hazy sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 90s to low 100s.

A mostly dry pattern will begin on Tuesday. This will keep us dry for the foreseeable future and will also keep conditions sunny for most of the week.

Our air quality will likely remain in the moderate category for most of this week. As crews make good progress on the fires in Eastern Oregon, smoke from the Park Fire in Northern California and other regional fires will continue to impact our region over the coming days.
