Juliana Peña slammed Amanda Nunes for making her relevant after their first fight. Julianna Peña is set to fight Amanda Nunes for the third time for UFC 289. The fight will be the main event and take place in Vancouver Canada. Juliana Peña is currently 1-1 with Amanda Nunes in title matches. With the scores settled UFC 289 will reveal who gets the last laugh between the lioness and the Venezuelan Vixen.

Julianna Peña shocked the world after she submitted Amanda Nunes during the second round at UFC 269. This was one of the biggest upsets in the UFC as Amanda Nunes is the most dominant fighter in the UFC women’s division. Before her fight with Peña, the lioness was on a 12-fight win streak with 9 of them in title fights. Nunes however managed to reclaim her belt after a five-round war against Peña at UFC 277. However, Julianna Peña believes that she made Amanda relevant after their first fight and she broke her back while carrying the card.

“You realize how bad my back hurts right now? My back is broken, okay, from carrying this fight and from making her relevant again after I beat her the first time. Like literally, my back hurts. We are, of course, going to be the main event. I’m carrying us all the way there like I always do,” said Peña in her interview on MMA Hour.

Julianna Peña is also hyped up that the fight is taking place in her home ground and believes the majority of the fans will be supporting her. Julianna already has a star-studded list that includes WWE legend Ric Flair and boxing legend Mike Tyson supporting her. Peña and Nunes have not fought any fresh opponents since their first fight. So hopefully, after this fight, they will fight a new prospect.
