The champion has a name, Charles Oliveira directs bold callout for Conor McGregor after UFC 27
UFC lightweight contender Charles Oliveira has nailed the fight as well as the mic! Oliveira, who just choked out Justin Gaethje, his opponent for the main-event of UFC 274, in the opening round, is adding more and more victories with finishes as the time passes and is therefore keeping the record of most finishes in UFC history to stand the test of time.
Oliveira, who lost his title only during the weigh in due to missing weight by .5 lbs, is now going to fight for the title in his next fight, with all the hopes that he hits the scales right in his next fight. His next fight is most likely going to be either against the winner of Islam Makhachev vs Beneil Dariush or Makhachev directly. Regardless, Oliveira’s next fight can be a rigorous grappling contest, an area where the lightweight division already fears the former champion.
Charles Oliveira is here to endanger the entire lightweight division with his skills
Oliveira was interviewed right after his victory at UFC 274 inside the Octagon by longtime colour commentator Joe Rogan. Oliveira started off with this- “Hey Hey Hey! There’s something missing here, the champion has a name and it’s Charles Oliveira from the bronx!” with Oliveira citing where he came from and how far he has come defeating legendary names of the future.
“This is the message for the entire division, I am a problem for the entire division,” says Oliveira. “Hey listen, look at this team, look at me. I am enlightened, I am the champion. This is my title it should be here.”
On being asked who he wants to face for the lightweight strap, Oliveira said, “I don’t care just put anybody in front of me. I’m not going to choose. Hey Conor McGregor are you coming up or are you going to run away?” Indicating even if no one comes up to fight him, he is always in for a shot against UFC megastar McGregor.
What did you make of Oliveira’s performance against Gaethje at UFC 274 main event? Who do you think is next for Oliveira? How would you like to rank Oliveira amongst the best fighters from Brazil and how far do you think Oliveira’s dominance will reign over the 155lbs division? It’s high time the MMA community gives as much of stardom power by their support to Oliveira as possible for his skills deserve to have worldwide recognition.
