Shohei Ohtani isn’t looking to stop anytime soon. The Los Angeles Angels star pitcher and designated hitter has been smashing records left and right and making his way to several record books. Shohei Ohtani just hit a cracking home run against the 10-9 loss to the Kansas City Royals.
This home run was Ohtani’s 150th career home run. With this home run, Ohtani became the fourth-fastest player to record 150 home runs. It took the 28-year-old superstar 652 games to reach this feat.
Along with this, the 2018 AL Rookie of the Year also took his name among some of the greats of MLB. He trails behind Alex Rodriguez (646), Jose Canseco (630), and Willie Mays (598) on the list.

Shohei Ohtani‘s 150th home run came in the seventh innings. Royals’ Taylor Clarke pitched the ball and Ohtani obliterated it with the ball hitting the center of his bat and traveling an approximate 437-foot with an exit velocity of 110 mph. This home run was Ohtani’s 23rd of this season and now the Japanese star leads the league in HR.
The first place was shared by Ohtani and Mets’ Pete Alonso before the start of the Royals-Angels game. Projections have stated that if Shohei Ohtani continues to carry the same momentum in the remaining 89 games then he is on pace to hit 51 home runs in the season! Fans were absolutely out of their mind after seeing the 2021 AL MVP hit a banger of a home run and become the table topper.
